Today we left Earth University La Flor in Guancaste and traveled to the capital city, San Jose. It was a four hour bus ride that included sights of exciting new terrain including red clay, the Pacific Ocean, mountains, and rivers. Along the way we stopped at a common rest place for Ticos (natives) to use the restrooms and visit el supermercado. Most of the students purchased foreign chips and treats to enjoy along the rest of the way.
We arrived at United World College Costa Rica just in time for lunch, which was wonderful. After that, we got to know each other better in a group activity. We also got new roommates. We had Spanish lessons with our same professors who actually teach here at UWC. San Jose is much cooler than Guancaste and it’s much less humid which is terrific. Overall, Day 5 was very successful and exciting.
