Today was a day of reflection. We got together as a group and discussed stories from our homestays and our white water rafting trip yesterday. It was great to hear the experiences that everyone else had while at their homestays and how they compared to how we live in the United States.
We also had “solos” where we sat on our own for a few hours and reflected upon anything in our lives that may be emotionally holding us back from taking full advantage of this opportunity. After how busy the last few weeks have been it was nice to have some time to ourselves and reflect on all that we’ve done.
Later we gathered as a large group and had the opportunity to release any baggage that could possibly hold us back from enjoying Panama and the rest of our time together. We sat in a circle and lit a candle representing our concerns and were able to leave them in the middle and walk away.
All of the reflection we did today prepared us for Panama and we are ready to continue the rest of our journey together!
